Description

NEO Wireless Glass Break Detector (868MHz)

Advanced Acoustic Perimeter Protection

The NEO Wireless Glass Break Detector is a sophisticated acoustic sensor designed to provide an extra layer of perimeter security by detecting the sound of breaking glass. By identifying the specific frequency of shattering glass while ignoring common household noises, it provides reliable protection for windows and glass doors without the need for vibration sensors on every pane.

Key Features

Acoustic Pattern Recognition: Uses smart 360° acoustic sensors to distinguish between the actual sound of breaking glass and “false” sounds like clinking plates, barking dogs, or slamming doors.

Large Coverage Radius: A single unit can protect multiple windows within a 7.6m (25ft) range, making it cost-effective for rooms with several glass entry points.

Compatibility with Multiple Glass Types: Calibrated to detect the breakage of various glass types, including plate, tempered, laminated, wired, coated, and sealed insulating glass.

PowerG Wireless Reliability: Features 128-bit AES encryption and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology to ensure robust, tamper-proof communication with the NEO panel.

Simple Testing: Includes a test mode that can be activated remotely or locally to verify the microphone and transmitter are functioning correctly without needing to break a test pane.

Extended Battery Life: High-efficiency operation provides a battery life of up to 5 years, reducing maintenance visits.

Best Practices for Placement

  • Line of Sight: For the most accurate detection, ensure the detector has a clear, unobstructed line of sight to the windows it is intended to protect.

  • Avoid Noisy Areas: Avoid mounting directly next to loud air compressors, sirens, or bells, which may interfere with the acoustic sampling.

  • Optimal Distance: For best results, mount the device on the wall opposite the glass or on the ceiling. It should be at least 1m away from the glass but within the 7.6m maximum range.

Important Note: This detector is designed to trigger upon the impact and shattering of glass. It is a perfect companion to the Curtain PIR for high-security areas where both movement and forced entry must be monitored.
