Description
NEO Wireless PowerG Repeater (868MHz)
Model: PG8920
The PG8920 is a sophisticated wireless repeater that significantly extends the communication range between the PowerSeries NEO control panel and other PowerG devices. It is the ideal solution for large residential estates, multi-story commercial buildings, or properties with thick concrete/stone walls that may otherwise obstruct wireless signals.
Key Features
-
Range Extension: Effectively doubles the distance for all enrolled PowerG devices, ensuring that even the most remote sensors maintain a rock-solid connection to the host panel.
-
Smart Routing: Automatically manages the communication paths of up to 64 devices, choosing the most efficient signal route to minimize latency and battery drain.
-
PowerG Robustness: Utilizes 128-bit AES encryption and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology to ensure that the repeated signal is just as secure and interference-resistant as the original.
-
AC Powered with Battery Backup: Plugs into a standard power outlet but includes a rechargeable 24-hour backup battery to ensure the system remains fully functional during a power outage.
-
Visual Diagnostic Tools: Features a multi-color LED Link Quality Indicator, allowing you to find the “sweet spot” for installation where it can clearly hear both the panel and the remote sensors.
-
Scalable Security: Multiple repeaters can be added to a single system (depending on panel capacity) to create a wide-reaching mesh-like coverage area.

Strategic Placement Tips
-
The Mid-Point Rule: For best results, place the repeater halfway between the control panel and the furthest cluster of sensors. Avoid placing it too close to the panel, as this provides no benefit.
-
Avoid Interference: Mount the unit at least 2 meters away from other electrical equipment, large metal objects (like fuse boxes or water tanks), or wireless routers.
-
Vertical Orientation: Mount the unit vertically on a wall at a height of 2 to 3 meters for the best signal propagation across the floor plan.
Note: The PG8920 is transparent to the system. Once enrolled, you do not need to manually “assign” sensors to it; the PowerG protocol will automatically route devices through the repeater if it provides a stronger signal than the main panel.
